Our veterinary team understands surgery can be a stressful time for both you and your pet. Every step we take is intentionally done to ensure the experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. When you bring your pet to us for surgery, they are in capable hands. How do you prepare my pet for surgery?

Before the surgery, our team will go through pre-surgery procedures. If your pet is required to go under anesthesia, we might do some bloodwork to ensure they respond to the medication during surgery. We might also do bloodwork and a physical exam to ensure your pet will have a successful procedure.

What happens in the surgical suite?

At the forefront of our minds is the safety and comfort of every furry friend who is on our operating table. Our caring, compassionate and knowledgeable staff remains focused on providing the best available surgical services. Our team is grateful to have Dr. Kris Torske as a part of our team. Her special interest in anesthesia provides us with cutting-edge knowledge and expertise, especially when dealing with more complicated anesthesia cases.

How do I care for my pet post-surgery?

After the surgery is complete, our staff will work with you to help ensure that your pet recovers as quickly and as comfortably as possible. Things you can do at home to support your pet’s recovery are:

• Ensuring your pet isn’t engaging in too much activity
• Checking incisions to make sure they’re healing properly
• Giving your pet their prescribed medications as directed
• Providing your pet with a comfortable and warm space to recover
• Ensuring your pet is eating and staying hydrated
• Giving your pet as much love and care as possible
